Sheldon Lieberman

Sheldon Lieberman

Sheldon is the founder of Bigfish, a highly respected design and digital company in Brisbane. He is also a filmmaker and has screened at some of the biggest short film and animation festivals in the world including Clermont Ferrand, Ottawa and London International Animation Festivals.

Natalie Grube

Natalie Grube

Natalie is a filmmaker from Norfolk Island whose work focuses primarily on cultural and linguistic preservation and revitalisation. She has also produced and co-wrote several award-winning drama and comedy films which have been screened at Byron Bay Film Festival, Byron All Shorts, Mother Tongue Film Festival (USA) and broadcast on SBS.

Endre Kvia

Endre Kvia

Endre Kvia teaches film and photography at Shearwater Steiner School. His film experience ranges from directing, cinematography and editing and has worked on projects for MTV, FUEL TV and independent short films.

Luca Fox

Luca Fox

Luca Fox is a film student at SAE just about to finish a Bachelor of Film. At 20 years old he has written, directed, shot and edited a range of short films. His most recent film Distortia, has just been accepted into the 2018 Flickerfest.

Terms and Conditions

  • The core creators of all films must be 20 years of age or younger at the time of film completion/submission
  • Filmmakers must reside or go to school within the Byron Shire
  • Films must be 1-3 minutes in length
  • Films must have been produced in 2019
  • Only one entry per entrant is allowed
  • Both live action and animated films will be accepted
  • Films with any graphic violence, profanity, or mature content will not be accepted
  • Filmmakers must hold copyright to showcase ALL actors, voices, footage, and soundtrack used in the film
  • Films must be provided for screening in the following format: 1920 x 1080 mp4 file
  • The Festival reserves the right to repurpose film entries for marketing and promotional practises and exhibit winning films on this website
